quiet storm

Gloria Estefan – Go Away (Tommy Musto Underground Dub)

I copped the 12″ after coming across this on the RJJNY YouTube channel. This is top-class, chopped-up vocal house.

Johnny Clegg & Savuka – Siyayilanda (Love Chant Dub)

I got turned on to this after it was ID’ed from an old Timmy Regisford WBLS show on the http://deephousepage.com forums. This kinda has a Cultural Vibe – Ma Foom Bey sound/vibe to it.

Ronald Burrell – Quiet Song
A killer tune from one-half of the Nu-Groover Burrell brothers. Dirty, raw sampling of one of the best and longest-running syndicated shows on FM Radio…

Words can’t describe how much it means to play with Timmy at U Street Music Hall. Last February when we brought him down to TnT Clubhouse, it was easily the biggest party I threw all year and the most special. This guy is a personal DJ Hero to me and an absolute legend in NYC and beyond for his aggressive no-nonsense approach to DJing….

LIVE MIX: Burns vs. Burns @ U Street Music Hall 9-3-10

What a night! Great turnout, the dancefloor energy never lacked from start to finish and tons of new and classic stuff got played. Big thanks to Louis P. for a great opening set and for getting in the mix during the last 45 minutes-hour with the classics.

These mixes were taken straight from the mixer, hence the “realness” to their quality. No ableton / automixing here…
