Chris Burns has pioneered his way through the DC creative landscape via an original DJ style inspired by the disco culture of yesteryear with a modern, house twist. By emphasizing versatile programming, innovative mixing and the effective creation of strong moods on the dance floor, he has gained a loyal and diverse following in D.C. and beyond. As a result, Burns has received numerous awards and critical acclaim for his unique approach to contemporary dance music.

In 2008, 2009 and 2010, Burns threw parties and shared bills with some of dance music’s living legends and brightest talents: Louie Vega, Timmy Regisford, Nadastrom, Diplo,  Karizma, Danny Krivit, Ron Trent, Quentin Harris, DJ Spen, Osunlade, Teddy Douglas, Mr. V and many more.

As a promoter and DJ, Burns’ resident parties, Wild North (Going Out Guru’s editor’s pick), Hometown Heroes (Washington Post’s Best DJ Night of 2008 Runner Up) and Disco City (Going Out Gurus’ Best Ongoing DJ Nights 2008/2009) and are consistently packed. Burns is also a regular rotating resident at DC’s top clubs, U Street Music Hall and Funxion. In addition, his legendary underground afterhours, warehouse events have garnered him a solid reputation in dance music circles throughout the East Coast and have provided him with sponsor partnerships with Scion, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Red Bull, Kia Soul, Colt 45, VitaCoco, DURKL and others. This acclaim has resulted in regular bookings outside D.C. at parties such as but not limited to: Ultra Nate’s “Deep Sugar” in Baltimore, Brian Coxx’s “Soulgasm” in New York City and Robotique in Philadelphia.

Chris has been actively expanding his production portfolio in 2010, including several remix projects and his upcoming debut EP to be released with Deep Sugar Music/Strictly Rhythm in Fall 2010. His partnership with Nouveau Riche’s Gavin Holland under the “Party Bros.” moniker has resulted in fun, original tracks that have been getting heavy rotation in clubs and significant attention from media around the world. Under his Glenn Echo project, Burns has applied his love for psychedelic rock, slow-motion disco and Balearic tracks to remixing and re-editing new and old leftfield music. Going into the future, Chris is focused on producing music that pushes the limits of the dancefloor and blurs the lines of deep, progressive, soulful, tribal, classic and tech house.
